Ingredients
- For the Cake:
- All-purpose flour / Maida – 1½ cups
- Golden Crown Baking Powder – 1½ tsp
- Golden Crown Sugar Syrup – ½ cup (for soaking the cake)
- Butter – ½ cup (softened)
- Sugar – ¾ cup (or adjust to taste)
- Eggs – 2 large
- Milk – ½ cup
- Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
- For the Topping / Decoration:
- Golden Crown Gulab Jamun – 6–8 pieces (halved or whole)
- Golden Crown Sugar Syrup – ¼ cup (for soaking Gulab Jamuns)
- Chopped nuts (almond, pistachio) – 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 01Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 7–8 inch cake pan and line with parchment paper.
- 02In a bowl, whisk together flour and Golden Crown Baking Powder.
- 03In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- 04Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla essence.
- 05Gradually fold in the dry ingredients alternately with milk until smooth.
- 06Pour batter into the prepared pan. Smooth the top.
- 07Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- 08Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- 09While the cake is still slightly warm, brush Golden Crown Sugar Syrup evenly over it.
- 10Let it soak for 10–15 minutes so the cake becomes moist and syrupy.
- 11Halve or keep whole Golden Crown Gulab Jamuns.
- 12Warm them slightly in Golden Crown Sugar Syrup so they absorb more sweetness.
- 13Place Gulab Jamuns on top of the soaked cake.
- 14Sprinkle chopped nuts over the top for garnish.
- 15Chill for 30 minutes before serving
